Today, an informational assembly was held by the Presidency and General Secretariat of CSUCA, together with the University Information and Communication System -SIREICU- in order to announce the unanimous approval of the regulations by the Central American Higher University Council in its CXVII Ordinary Session.
The activity began with words from MSc. Ramona Rodríguez, President of CSUCA, who congratulated the members of SIREICU for having managed to form the system, as well as motivating the representatives to carry out collaborative work, in favor of making the work of the universities visible.
For his part, MSc. Carlos Alvarado Cerezo, Secretary General of CSUCA, indicated that SIREICU arises from the need to provide cross-cutting support to existing systems, in order to promote the dissemination of the work carried out by the Central American University Confederation. He also announced the creation of a new media outlet called Radio Comunica, which has been promoted through funding from Swiss Cooperation in Central America, with the purpose of disseminating information generated by universities through digital radio.
Likewise, MSc. María José Aburto, in her capacity as President of SIREICU, expressed her gratitude for the support received, as well as outlining the work mechanism that has been planned with the members of SIREICU. She also introduced the members of the Board of Directors, which includes one member per country.
And MSc. Armando Sarmiento, Secretary General of SIREICU, highlighted the commitment of the members of the system, noting that for many members it is a dream come true since the proposal made in 2015, which was consolidated in the creation of the Comunica Network.
