The SIREICU is a dependency of the Central American University Confederation that promotes communication processes and works as a strategic instrument of the CSUCA systems for the creation, production, distribution of graphic, textual and audiovisual communication materials prepared for the dissemination of the work of the universities that belong to the CSUCA, in order to strengthen, make visible and recognize the activities, actions and projects they carry out.
Its functions include: developing and supporting the various communication processes generated by the systems. Coordinate the external communication of the CSUCA in order to produce and distribute pertinent information of the organization to external actors, such as the media in the region, or to communication instances of international education organizations.
The SIREICU brings together the dissemination and communication instances of the CSUCA member universities, and the university communication media (radio, television, print and digital, audiovisual spaces, social networks and others), in order to coordinate the development of communication policies that allow the articulation and promotion of information produced within the framework of the Confederation and its systems, with the objective of informing the regional university community of the projects and actions carried out by the member study houses.
1. Establish inter-university alliances for logistical support in the dissemination of university work, from the communication instances of the CSUCA member universities, the activities of the Central American University Confederation, the processes and results of research, extension, linkage, teaching and management of the member universities, as well as sharing the diverse manifestations of Central American thought and culture.
2. Contribute to the formulation and design of communication, information, management and advocacy policies and regulations in the management and decision-making bodies of the CSUCA and its member universities, for the formulation and establishment of institutional actions that allow visualizing the results of his chore.
3. Support CSUCA member universities in the formulation and implementation of communication activities and promotion of networking of academics, researchers, work groups and research centers working in the priority areas of the Regional Agenda.
4. Establish agreements, mechanisms, repositories, protocols, interactive platform and operational plans for the joint production, transfer and dissemination of communication and editorial products.
5. Strengthen the capacities of the communication and dissemination teams in the formulation, management, execution of a training and continuing education program, at the regional level and by university, on communication issues, new information technologies, trends, which includes courses, seminars, internships, postgraduate courses, exchange of good practices, among others.
6. Develop communication products that disseminate results in teaching, research, innovation, science, extension and social action, art and culture, and educational materials produced by the systems.
7. Promote the academic, cultural and sports activities that take place among the member universities.
The SIREICU is made up of the Directorates of the dissemination and communication instances of the CSUCA member universities, a representative of Red Comunica and a representative of the CSUCA General Secretariat.
Within its organizational structure with the following bodies:
to. Assembly of addresses of the dissemination and communication instances of the CSUCA member universities. The General Assembly of the SIREICU System is made up of the addresses of the dissemination and communication instances of the CSUCA member universities, a representative of Red Comunica and a representative of the CSUCA General Secretariat; It will be the deliberative, purposeful and approval body of the System.
According to the projects generated from SIREICU, more members may join the general assembly, taking into account that they will have the right to speak and not vote.
b. Presidency and General Secretariat. The SIREICU Presidency will be occupied each year by the person responsible for the Directorate of the dissemination and communication instance of the university that holds the Pro-Tempore Presidency of the CSUCA, respectively, in annual representation of the host country. The person who holds the General Secretary of SIREICU will be appointed by the General Assembly of directors of the System's dissemination and communication instances, to promote the processes of integration of the Confederation's communication.
c. Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors is made up of one representative per country of the CSUCA member universities, a person who will be appointed by the committee of each nation according to its internal organization, and ratified by the General Assembly of the System. A representative of Red Comunica and a representative of the General Secretariat of CSUCA, with the right to speak and not vote.
