The application period for the Early Career Research Grants Y Awards (grants) for Collaborative Research in Higher Education within the framework of the project A New Generation of Researchers on Climate Adaptation for Disaster Risk Reduction (CARP).
In this call for proposals, 74 applications were received, 44 for Early Career opportunities and 30 for Collaboration. The selection process will take place in two phases over the coming weeks.
- The evaluation of formal requirements is based on compliance with the submission deadline and compliance with the sending of data and proposal documents, according to the call.
- The evaluation of the award criteria will be conducted by the External Regional Expert Committee, which will technically assess each application that meets the aforementioned requirements. Subsequently, the Steering Committee, comprised of representatives from the University of Arizona's Program Coordination Unit, the Regional Coordination Unit, and the Office of Humanitarian Assistance of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), will determine which applications will receive the research grants.
The CARP Project, aware of the need to support a new generation of young and early-career researchers from universities in Central America, the Caribbean and South America, will be making new calls for Early Career Research Grants during the next four years.
