Presentation of advance results

With the purpose of publicizing the development of the project "Strengthening Science and Innovation Policy Capacities in SICA member countries", a session was held today to present progress and results, generating an exchange of knowledge regarding the regional scientific collaboration that has been carried out in the last year.

The different projects that have been promoted strengthen the generation of research on topics such as environmental management, technologies, innovation, health, university extension, among others, presenting alternative proposals for the development of the Central American region, fulfilling the purposes and objectives proposed in the Plan for the Regional Integration of Higher Education in Central America and the Dominican Republic -PIRESC V-.

In order to find common objectives in Open Science, a meeting was held jointly with LA Referencia.

The Network of repositories of open access to science, gives visibility to the scientific production of higher education and research institutions in Latin America, promotes Free and Open Access to the full text.

With the aim of meeting the goals proposed in the Plan para la Integración Regional de la Educación Superior de Centroamérica y República Dominicana -PIRESC V-, CSUCA seeks to strengthen regional repositories, as well as raise awareness and train the Central American university community in the opening of scientific research.

Therefore, it is expected to be able to work on common projects for the scientific development of the region.

Meeting of the Commission of Secretariats of SICA with the Pro Tempore Presidency of SICA

With the objective of promoting the strengthening of the integration and development of the region, the first meeting was held between the Commission of Secretaries of the Central American Integration System and the Pro Temporé Presidency held by Panama.

The CSUCA is part of the social integration work table, in order to promote, articulate, identify and prioritize the regional needs of higher education, for the implementation of programs that contribute to the sustainable development of Central America.
