SIECA and CSUCA start training program

With the purpose of socializing Central American economic integration, under the principle of being a trainer of trainers, today the diploma course begins for more than 160 teachers from the universities that make up the Central American University Confederation.

?In the month of February we signed an agreement with SIECA, which gave us the opportunity to exchange this experience, through joint projects, based on the need for training that exists in the region, assuming that the process of Central American integration is transcendent, allowing the construction of a promising future, within a representative and participatory democracy, with a meeting point in peace, justice and equity? said Carlos Alvarado, Secretary General of CSUCA.

For his part, Duayner Salas, Chief of Staff, pointed out ?We have worked decisively and jointly, after several months of hard work, today the Diploma in Central American Economic Integration is launched as a novel initiative with the purpose of promoting the Central American integration, encouraging spaces for reflection that affect the thinking of Central America, which will help position the region at the highest level?

The course seeks to integrate university teachers in the subject in order to replicate the importance of integration in students of public universities in the SICA region.

The course will be taught virtually, using learning tools in fully technological environments, through the SIECA virtual platform. And it will last 6 months, through 11 modules, in which different phases and integration tools can be known.

INNOVATE IN A SIMPLE AND SUCCESSFUL WAY

Today the university education workshop ?Innovate in a simple and fruitful way was held, with the purpose of generating an exchange within the public universities of Central America and the Caribbean, in order to be able to identify and exchange good practices in time to train students through various virtual tools and the implementation of the Qualifications Framework for Central American Education -MCESCA-.

?In the first two decades of this century, there is a demand for higher education, as well as a demand to prepare new generations with quality education, innovation and equal access to new communication technologies. It is expected that the MCESCA will be the basis for the formulation and innovation of education in our region?, said the Secretary General of CSUCA, Carlos Alvarado.  

For her part, Juana Machado, President of SICEVAES pointed out ?In Central American universities we have been developing a series of actions to be able to find the support tools to develop the work in the classroom, therefore, this workshop will help us to visualize innovative strategies, with the purpose of training the professionals that our Central American countries require?

This first exchange presented great implementations, which at the time of exchange have generated new proposals with the purpose of improving the contribution of higher education. The workshop was held thanks to the support of HRK and the Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences, in conjunction with CSUCA.

52 General Assembly SICEVAES

Today, the 52nd General Assembly of the Central American System for the Evaluation and Harmonization of Higher Education -SICEVAES- was held, with the purpose of working on the follow-up of the strategic objectives, corresponding to program 3 of the V Plan for Integration Regional Office for Higher Education in Central America and the Dominican Republic -PIRESC V-.

?Higher education is projected to new dimensions, access to open knowledge generates new opportunities for science, mainly for the progress of our region? said Carlos Alvarado, Secretary General of CSUCA.

For her part, Juana Machado, President of SICEVAES indicated ?It is necessary to promote learning strategies in the social context in which we live today, fostering creativity, entrepreneurship, among others?.

Within the actions managed for said assembly, Alberto Mora, Research Coordinator of the State of the Region Report, presented the conference ?Sustainable Human Development in the Region, Opportunities and Challenges? mentioning that ?The development of our region seen as a set of dynamics and actions that help us achieve the aspiration of living decent lives, through regional integration. The State of the Region report is a citizen tool to find solutions to our problems?

After 5 hours of work, the objectives proposed for the work session were achieved, completing a specific route for the fulfillment of the third program of PIRESC V, from SICEVAES.
